Narrative
In 1911 at the age of 19 years having being recently married to Emily, Alfred was a porter with the Great Northern Railway. During WW1 he joined up as a Sapper with the Royal Engineers. Later in 1939 he is a Telephone Testing Officer. Probably due to his training and roll in the Royal Engineers.
