Event Note

PANNOWITZ.-The death occurred of Mr. George Pannowitz, aged 89 years, of Bleak House, near Nhill. He was born in Poland and arrived in South Australia with his parents when three years of age. He resided at Hamilton and Minyip for short periods, and in 1884 selected land at Bleak House, where he resided until a few years ago, when he went to live with his sons. Deceased was an expert blade shearer in his early days and shore sheep on the Riverina, Nhill, Mt. Elgin. Ballarook, Yanac, and Drum Banagher stations. His wife predeceased him 11 years ago, and there are six sons and five daughters. The interment took place at the Nhill Cemetery.
